Artifact 1
A collection analysis is an important tool for providing information about the materials and their use. The collection analysis helps to clarify the library’s goals in the context of its mission and budget, supply data used to set funding priorities, and build a base for long-range planning and administration. When I first began working in my school library, I found that our collection was old and outdated compared to our district and state. The average age of the collection was over 20 years. The collection's average age is now 8 years, which has been substantially updated in the past three years.

Artifact 4
The library media center has subscribed to the same periodicals for the past several years. Students and teachers rarely use them as resources. After exploring and researching other magazines, I changed the list of magazines subscriptions to one that was more aligned to the curriculum needs and patron interests.
